This is 15 year old Silvia
Koyiano Kaos. She is in grade 7 at Ilbissil Primary Boarding
School for Girls. She is from the Ngong Division of Kenya's
Kajiado District.
Silvia ran away from her home
at age 11 when her father announced that he had made wedding
plans. She found shelter with an uncle. With MGEF's support,
she was able to return to school.
Silvia's education at Ilbissil
Primary Boarding School for Girls costs $20 per month through
primary school (grades 1-8) and $50 per month through secondary
school (grades 9-12). The fee covers all supplies, uniforms,
and school costs.
Sponsoring a specific girl
requires a commitment to her entire education. If you do not
feel you can make such a commitment, please consider making
a donation to the general education
fund to help support the education costs of girls who
do not have a specific sponsor.
