Even though both her mother and father support the education of girls, they were too poor to send their own children to school. Both are illiterate, and dependent on their cattle and goats to survive. Naleku is the eldest of five children and the first in the family to enroll in school. She has two sisters and two brothers.
Update: Tragically, Naleku's father drowned in May 2010 trying to cross a river to his home after a heavy rainstorm.
A donation to MGEF will help to buy shoes, a uniform, and supplies for a student, or pay school fees for a needy girl to go to school.
Sponsorship is an opportunity to be a part of one student's life for the duration of her education and beyond. If you are interested in sponsoring a student, please contact MGEF so that we can discuss which is the best student for you.
