Give to the General Scholarship Fund

The General Scholarship Fund is a pool of donations dedicated to scholarships for Maasai girls who would otherwise not be able to go to school. This allows MGEF to offer scholarships to students without having to have an individual sponsor.  More than half of MGEF's student scholarships are funded through the General Scholarship Fund.

A small amount of money goes a long way toward a girl's education.  A pair of shoes, a uniform, books, personal supplies, all can be purchased for less than $50.  A caclulator costs $12; high school books cost $45; one uniform set costs $25.  These are all a part of education costs, and success in school.

Not everyone is able to make a long-term commitment to sponsor a student, but a donation to the General Scholarship Fund allows MGEF to offer scholarships to girls without having to find a sponsor first.  This gives MGEF the ability to respond quickly to emergency situations, and has saved many girls from forced marriages, or from having to drop out of school because of poverty.  The Fund supports over half of our students from primary school through university. Please consider making a donation to the General Scholarship Fund.

A donation can be made by check payable to Maasai Girls Education Fund, or by credit card on JustGive.org, or if you are an employee of the Federal government, through the Combined Federal Campaign.
